MATCH-UP Traveling Photojournalism Exhibit
“Unlikely Friendships” A Traveling
Photojournalism Exhibit was presented by MATCH-UP in celebration
of its 20th anniversary in 2004-05.
Celebrating the life-affirming, priceless power of
friendships at all ages and stages of life, Gail Rothenberg's evocative
black and white portraits are complemented by telling interviews
with the
subjects conducted by Angela Song. Each featured friendship is the
result of a match made by MATCH-UP Interfaith Volunteers.
"A major goal of this exhibit is to raise awareness
of elder isolation and the caring solutions MATCH-UP offers," explains
Executive Director Janet Seckel-Cerrotti. The hope is that this increased
awareness will result in greater community involvement with and support
of elders, especially at this time of increasing need.
Many of the photographs you see throughout this site
are from the “Unlikely
Friendships” exhibit.
